About the Artist

Sculptural, wearable, considered.

Mina Saneei is a contemporary jewelry artist and designer based in Vancouver, Canada. Originally from Iran, their work is shaped by a layered cultural perspective that merges traditional sensibilities with contemporary processes. With a background in architecture, Saneei brings a spatial and structural awareness to their practice — creating sculptural and conceptual jewelry that explores materiality, emotion, and transformation.

Saneei began their journey in jewelry in 2012 in Iran, initially exploring a range of materials and techniques before discovering a lasting affinity for metalwork through silversmithing. This early experimentation continues to inform an interdisciplinary, process-driven approach — one that balances fluid, organic forms with precise, architectural elements.

They hold a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Iran and an Advanced Diploma in Jewellery Arts from George Brown College in Toronto, where they developed a strong foundation in metal arts and jewelry design. Their work has been featured in exhibitions that highlight experimental and contemporary jewelry — reflecting an ongoing interest in expanding the boundaries between adornment and fine art.

An active member of the Vancouver Metal Arts Association (VMAA), Saneei currently serves as Chair of the Exhibition Committee, contributing to the development and curation of local metal arts programming. Alongside their studio practice, they work as a production manager within the jewelry industry, integrating technical expertise with design efficiency.

Through their work, Saneei challenges conventional notions of jewelry — creating wearable forms that invite deeper engagement. Their pieces function as vessels for personal and collective narratives: objects that evoke emotion and reframe the relationship between the body and adornment.
